A former Sunbury player, Said is returning to BFL after two years with St Albans in the Western Region league.
He is coming off a stellar season.
The noted goalkicker booted 46 majors in 13 appearances and was named in the WRFL division one team of the year.
Said is one of the first major recruits secured by Darley, which is looking to cover the loss of Nick and Brian Graham, and Heath Scotland.
"He's a good fit for the club," said Roy, who is in first season as coach.
"There's a bit unknown about him...an x-factor," Roy said.
In Said's last year with Sunbury in 2017, he kicked 30 goals in the opening nine rounds before being impacted by injury.
He was one of four Sunbury players recruited by St Albans in 2018, moving with with David Kovacevic, Adam Short and Tom Donoghue.
Darley has also signed George Steven - a former teammate of Roy at Lorne and younger brother of now Geelong AFL player Jack Steven.
Described by Roy as a strong midfielder, Steven played his junior and early football with Lorne in the Colac District league before spending four seasons with Colac in the Geelong league.
Steven returned to Lorne last year.
Roy said Steven lived in the Melbourne metropolitan area and playing with Darley was a much better fit with work and lifestyle for him.
