The 32 year old will make her return at Sunday's Mountain of Fun Run at Dunnstown where she will compete for her seventh crown.
The event is a favorite of Fraser, who has won it more than anybody in history.
Fraser's husband David Fraser said she will use the event as a warm-up for the Great Ocean Road 60-kilometre running festival in May. David, who serves as her coach also, said it had been a frustrating year.
"She had an injured cuboid bone in her foot which affected her running for at least six months," he said.
"In hindsight, this was a great year to be injured, because there weren't many major events she missed."
The Mountain of Fun Run is a 12.5-kilometre trek from Dunnstown Oval, up the picturesque Mount Warrenheip on Ballarat's eastern outskirts.
The race will commence at 8.15am
The event is the major fundraiser for St Brendan's Primary School at Dunnstown.
A 6-kilometre family-friendly run and walk will take place on the same day, kicking off at 8.30am.
