The talks followed the postponement of the 2020 season until at least May 31 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We had a good fruitful meeting," CHFL president Doug Hobson said.
"We went over aspects of what needed talking about and formulated several scenarios depending on start dates so we can get as much football as we can this year, providing we get the green light by AFL Victoria to proceed to play."

Hobson, who took over the role from Eddy Comelli in the off-season, said he would now be communicating some of the board's plans to member clubs.
The Central Highlands league season had been set to commence on April 18 before an announcement last week from AFL Victoria that competitions should wait until at least the end of May.
