Invermay's Dollar Bill Brewing, home of award-winning sour beers, was going to be exhibiting at Federation Square, as part of Good Beer Week.
Instead, they've found themselves with a lot of spare time to work on their recipes - some of which feature wild Ballarat yeasts - and prepare for the opening of their new cellar door.
But in the meantime, the Independent Brewers Association is holding weekend virtual showcases, and the Dollar Bill team - Ed and Fiona Nolle - are encouraging beer lovers to check it out.
You might even catch a glimpse of their dog.
It might not be a proper tasting in the pub, but they promise this Saturday afternoon's session will be the next best thing.
They advise getting a bottle of Dollar Bill cider and the 2019 Spring Parlay ale if you can - there's a couple of places in town that'll offer takeaways - and settle down on Saturday from 4pm to join in online.
Setting up in their barrel room, viewers will get a sneak preview of the cellar door months before it opens, and a preview of the funky beers they're working on.
Ms Nolle said last weekend's session was interactive, almost like a real tasting - and that's crucial when people are socially distancing and can't catch up with friends or engage in hobbies and passions, like enjoying a creative beer, the way they used to.
"You can drop comments on the screen - it was a lot of fun," she said.
"It's giving people the access to us they would have had if we were one-on-one.
"It's nice because everyone feels a bit forgotten, everyone scrambles, you feel disconnected."
Getting that connection back is particularly important for hospitality workers who lost their jobs in the first wave of virus-induced closures.
"Everyone is hurting, everyone's gone through a big shock, and this is the first step, almost, to reconnect," Ms Nolle said.
"Hospo were the first ones kicked out, we know through all the people we called to check on.
"It's a delicate thing - everyone has to look after their own interests but we have to work together, so you have to make sure everyone's okay, not just yourself."
Mr Nolle added a lot of breweries had closed down already.
"After six months of lockdown and people not having wages, people might not have that spare cash - the whole industry's going to struggle for the next few years," he said.
"Think local, support independent."
