Your plant a small autumn orchid, known as parson's bands.
Most local plants are less than 25cm tall and grow in native grassland and particularly grassy woodland.
Autumn is their usual flowering time. They occur mostly in small loose groups, so if one is seen, there will generally be others nearby.
This little autumn orchid is said to have a perfume, but I have not been able to smell anything so far this year, despite sniffing a flower on a mild to warm day.
Local flowers are mostly white, with a few sometimes showing a tinge of pink. Pinker flowers grow in far west Victoria.
The parson's bands is leafless at flowering time, its single leaf appearing later.
