He said each of the 11 clubs was well managed.
Anwyl said there would be pain, but the sound structures in place would see them through a difficult time.
East Point president Gary Wilson and Darley president Mark Shelly shared the optimism.
They said some senior coaching payments would the only ongoing football department costs during the hiatus, with coaches maintaining ties with and running programs for players.
Wilson said one of the biggest impacts on East Point was the loss of income normally generated through the hiring of social rooms outside the football and netball season, but generally the club was strongly placed after consecutive premierships.
He said his biggest concern was for those people lived for football.
"It means so much to so many. It's everything to them. No football is going to have a massive impact on many people."
Wilson said he had been to the Eastern Oval rooms since the curtain had come down on all community football activities.
"The emptiness. It's a weird feeling."
Shelly said with no training or matches, there were no player payments to meet or user fees for facilities.
He said while having paid a significant five-figure sum to the installation of ground lighting at Darley Park would make it tighter than usual, the Devils were in a sound position financially.
Shelley said Darley was working closely with club sponsors about the long-term.
Meanwhile, Anwyl said the BFNL continues to work on possible fixture models for senior and junior competitions, with the board of directors open to any suggestions.
AFL Victoria has suspended all community football activities until at least May 31.
The BFNL senior season was originally set down to the start on Saturday, April 18.
