Traveling and socialising.
Can I see my family who lives separate from me? No. You should not host others in your home and not travel to other peoples homes.
Can I see my partner who lives separate from me? Yes. Couples who live apart are allowed to travel to each other's homes.
Can I have an Easter egg hunt at home? Yes. You can have an Easter egg hunt as long as it is only with the people who live in your home.
Can I get a coffee with a friend? Yes. As long as it is a takeaway coffee, it is part of a walk and you practice social distancing, you are free to support one of the many cafes across Ballarat.
Can I take my kids to the local park to kick the footy or play in general? Yes. As long as it is only people from your home, you are not using any equipment and you are practicing social distancing from others. Some football ovals and parks may be closed, so just check beforehand.
Can I take my kids to the local playground? No. All outdoor playgrounds, gyms, exercise equipment and skate parks are closed.
Can I go outside to exercise? Yes. You can continue to exercise on your own or with one friend as long as you practice social distancing.
Can I go to a national or state park? Yes. You can go for a hike at some national and state parks such as Enfield State Park and Mt Buangor State Park, however others are closed, so it is advised you check in advance. You are not able to camp, or use picnic shelters and tables, rotundas, toilets or viewing platforms.
Can I go to my beach house or holiday property? Yes. You may travel with those you live with, only leaving the holiday property for essential reasons.
Can I go to the beach and if so, what can I do? Yes. Trips to the beach are treated similarly to walks, so if it is within walking distance from your property you can visit the beach for a short time. You are not permitted to go surfing, boating or fishing.
Can I stay at a hotel, hostel, backpackers or AirBnb? No.
Can I still use public transport? Yes. Public transport will be operating on public holiday schedules.
Can I still use ride share companies? Yes. You must sit in the backseat.
Religious experiences
Can I go to a church Easter service, or another place of worship? No.
Can I go to a wedding? Maybe. Weddings are limited to five people; the bride and groom, the celebrant and two witnesses.
Can I go to a funeral? Maybe. Funerals are limited to 10 people.
Shopping
Can I go to the supermarket? Yes.
Can I go to a shopping centre? Yes.
Can I go to the bottle shop? Yes.
Can I go to a cafe or restaurant? Yes. Dining in is not allowed.
Can I buy alcohol from a pub, bar, brewery, winery or distillery? Yes. As long as the venue has a licence to sell takeaway alcohol.
Can I go to the pharmacy? Yes.
Can I go to the bank? Yes.
Can I go to a hardware store? Yes.
Can a tradesperson work on my home? Yes. They need to practice social distancing.
