While no doubt, the major changes, particularly to capacity, will be seen next month once the April figures are released, Ballarat's train line showed some steady results, with a slight increase in punctuality throughout the month.
Ballarat was the second-most reliable short distance, regional train hub with 97.4 per cent reliability for the month. Punctuality also saw a rise back into the 90 per cent range after it dipped in February.
Trains arrived with 5 minutes and 59 seconds and departed within a minute of departure on 92.1 per cent of the time, the clear top in the state.
The Ararat and Maryborough lines also showed solid results with reliability at 98.6 per cent and punctuality at 91 per cent.
There were some changes to capacity ratios however during March with peak hour services seeing reduced patronage.
No morning service originating at Wendouree ran at 100 per cent throughout the month. The 6.38am service was the most popular at 99 per cent, the 6.09am service ran at 90 per cent while the 7.39am ran at just 69 per cent.
Again, on return trips from the city to Wendouree, only one service, the 5.10pm ran at capacity, other ranged from 79 and 91 per cent.
April's figures are expected to show a major change in capacity as people will have worked from home, and most children will have studied from home, for the entire month.
