Basketball Australia, States and Territories, as well as NBL, WNBL and NBL1, clubs have come together to build a comprehensive plan to restart the sport when the threat of COVID-19 eases.
The taskforce will be led by Basketball Australia Chair Ned Coten and the Owner and Executive Chairman of the NBL Larry Kestelman and include prominent members of the basketball and business communities.
Eddy said it was important to make sure sports get running from the grassroots as opposed to being filtered down from the national level.
"I get concerned occasionally that it's only the peak bodies looking to start back up because the peak body is only as strong as the interests and the spectators," he said.
"We need to restart sports from the ground up when it's safe to do so."
