Basketball Ballarat's senior A-Grade competitions saw five teams qualify for finals, while as many as six were still alive in the B-Grade.
Phoenix Blue emerged as the team to watch in the men's A-Grade, wracking up 14 wins and one loss over the summer, while the Saints were in the driver's seat in the women.
The undefeated Rollers looked rock-solid in the Thursday night Masters comp, but was set to be pushed by Skin, Ski & Surf.
Hop Temple Hoppers had also found form right as the whips were cracking.
A three-way race was shaping between Spaces, Scorpions and Cougars in the Thursday men's social competition, while Skin, Sea & Surf and the Underground Foxes were frontrunners in the women.
Scorpions Vice was proving a headache in the Wednesday men's, which hosts 38 teams across four divisions.
While the mixed competition was hotly contested, with one of the R.F Scott & Co teams set to go all the way.
Basketball Ballarat chief executive Peter Eddy said 2019-20 was bound to be an interesting finals series for players, regardless of which league they played in.
"Whilst the desired result is always a win, many players continue to play basketball to stay fit and active with friends.
"Perhaps it's something that will be reflected upon during this time of isolation and re-energise players to continue or join back in once this is all over," he said.
Meanwhile Basketball Ballarat's junior competitions were forced to cease play after commencing the 2019-20 semi-final series in March.
As things stand now, Eddy said there was yet to be a start date on when play could start back, but the organisation would continue to monitor government information.
He said play would return when it was safe to do so.
"We would like to congratulate all teams on what was a fantastic season. Everyone played hard, enjoyed their time and made it a joy to be able to watch everyone grow," he said.
"Whilst no winners will be crowned for the season we would like to acknowledge the minor premiers of each division.
