Emergency crews were called to a private address on Golden Wattle Drive, Maryborough, just after 2.30pm.
A police spokesperson said the jack slipped while the man was beneath the car.
An air ambulance rushed the man to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne.
About 2.40pm, emergency crews were called to Browns Road, Scarsdale, with reports of a woman trapped following an accident which left her car on its side.
The woman was conscious and talking to responders before she was extracted from the car and taken to the Ballarat Base Hospital, in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
About 10 minutes later, another person was taken to hospital following a car accident on Mount Buninyong Road.
