Allen returns to race riding at Morphettville in pursuit of group 1 glory in the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival.
It was the lure of securing rides in the rich carnival which convinced Ballarat-based Allen it was worth going into lockdown in Adelaide for 14 days - a SA government condition for travellers from interstate.
Allen acknowledges it was a significant decision, given it meant foregoing two weeks of racing, but the chance get group 1 and other feature winners made it worthwhile.
He said with fewer interstate jockeys at the carnival there would also be greater opportunities for rides over the three meetings he would be attending.
He initially had a full book of rides on Saturday, but this has been reduced with early scratchings.
Allen was joined by fellow Victorian jockeys Ethan Brown and Dean Holland in insolation.
"It wasn't too bad," Allen said in describing the past two weeks. It's gone quicker than I thought it would."
He said he had stuck to a strict work-out and exercise program, including riding a mechanical horse, to ensure he stayed in shape.
Allen's rides on Saturday include the two major races on the nine-event program.
Allen is on board Ballarat three-year-old filly Affair To Remember for trainer Dan O'Sullivan in the group 1 $400,000 Schweppes Oaks, 2000m, and Danny O'Brien-trained Embrace Me in the group 1 $400,000 TAB Classic, 1200m.
Allen has ridden Affair To Remember in three of her eight starts, including a maiden win at Geelong.
He said he was confident Affair To Remember would handle the rain-affected track, havoing won her maiden in soft7 conditions.
O'Sullivan is hoping to secure his first group 1 victory with Affair To Remember.
Mitch Freedman, also from Ballarat, is aiming for the same career breakthrough with Moonlight Maid in the Oaks.
Allen will go into another two weeks of isolation on returning home in keeping with Racing Victoria regulations.
