Western Bulldogs president Peter Gordon confirmed on Wednesday his club remained keen to play matches at Mars Stadium under a revised fixture, and while pleased with that news, Cr Taylor wants more.
Cr Taylor said the city would be happy to take on other teams outside the Bulldogs.
"(The AFL is) not going to have crowds at those (Melbourne) stadiums and if they needed something from a cost point of view or from a viewing point of view, we know Ballarat does a great job with it," he said.
"We can get them at Mars, it's all locked in, it's fenced, you could be in and out and know it's going to be on a great surface and should be a good spectacle from a viewing point of view as well."

Cr Taylor revealed council had been in contact with the AFL about being part of a hub for Victorian teams when play does get underway, and while that doesn't look likely, confirmed it would remain in discussions with the game's governing body.
"We are constantly in communication with them around what they are doing and even providing those options to them," he said.
"We started very early once the season was put on hold. We were in communication then. We have even been in communication more recently around the hubs and we are putting our hand up saying: we're ready and available for getting back to normal in relation to AFL.
"Number one would be the Bulldogs and number two would be any other club."
Gordon told 7 News on Wednesday that his club wanted to play in Ballarat this year.
"If we can bring a bit of happiness, a bit of focus to the people of Ballarat in a difficult time - that's important to us," Gordon said.
"I think there's something to be said for picking some venues where you get a bit of a backdrop and get a bit of local atmosphere..."
