Running from 9am until midday, there was a constant stream of customers coming into the Creswick Neighbourhood Centre to see the showcase of local fresh food and drinks.
Market coordinator Tim Drylie said it was encouraging to see so many people out early on the weekend at the market.
"It's been pretty steady," he said on Saturday.
"It's nice to see people out and about early on a Saturday and going out of their way to shop from local producers.
"We're happy with the numbers and even happier with the weather. If it stays like this the whole way through winter we'll be thrilled," he laughed.
These sentiments were echoed by Jacqueline Brodie from Shedshaker Brewing.
The member of the Castlemaine business said being able to return to local markets is crucial, as they have seen a 90 per cent decrease in their business over the past two months.
Markets like this are the future of local, small batch producers in regional communities.

"It's been amazing to see the support from the Creswick community, mainly because ourselves and many other producers need markets like this to survive," she said.
"People know how much time and effort small batch producers put into their products, so to have a market like this that can potentially run every week where we can showcase our stuff to the public is amazing.
"It's fantastic to interact with other stallholders and just get back out in a market setting in general."
Most people exhibited safe social distancing measures, staying an appropriate distance apart from one another while moving through the market and lining up to see stallholders.
The market will aim to run again next Saturday at the same time.
