As the Ballarat branch manager of the The Big Issue Community Street Soccer Program, Wilson-Browne provides weekly opportunities for disadvantaged people to get active through weekly games of soccer.
However with COVID-19 putting a stop to sporting activity, Wilson-Browne has come up with another way to raise awareness for the program. On Thursday he will walk 54 kilometres to celebrate his 54th birthday.
Decked out in a Big Issue red uniform, he will walk nine laps around Lake Wendouree as a way too share the program with the people of Ballarat.
"I will set up a spot near Pipers on the Lake for people to come grab a brochure with my phone number," he said.
"If people want to walk with me and chat about their difficulties or just about soccer they can."
The Street Soccer program is open to anyone and provides avenues to a number of support services.
