THE cars are revving for a return to the track for the first sporting event held in Ballarat in almost three months with the Ballarat Light Car Club hitting the dirt at Ballarat Airport this Sunday.

Cars will race around the track for the Motorkhana event which will be the first of its type to be held in the state since lockdown began.
The event has been made possible but a slight relaxing of restrictions which allow for up to 10 people to gather at any one time.
Club president David Haddon said the break had given member a chance to get some maintenance completed around the clubrooms.
"We don't have working bees as such but we've had different members come in and do different things around the place which has been terrific," he said.
"We've also been able to put some more dirt on the track to bring it up to standard.
"There will be some changes to the way we do things, and we will have a nurse on track making sure everything is COVID safe."
