Alexander Metcalfe and Tom Clarke are the most recent players to lodge clearances to join the Central Highlands Football League club.
Metcalfe is looking to transfer from Taylors Lakes in the Essendon District competition, while Clarke last played with Bellarine club Anglesea.
Leoncini said Metcalfe shaped as a midfielder for the Magpies, with Clarke likely a tall utility option.
Clunes has been running some organised training sessions since getting the green light from AFL Victoria, with Leoncini saying the social interaction side of things had been the most important.
After winning just one match, the Magpies collected the wooden spoon in 2019, which was Leoncini's second year as head coach of the club.
There remains no news from the CHFL on when the 2020 season might start.
