Alfie Dee has his first start for McDonald in the E-Cycle Solutions Hurdle, 3200m - one of four jumps events on a nine-race program.
The nine-year-old made his hurdling debut in June last year and had back-to-back hurdle victories in NZ in July and August.
Alfie Dee has not raced since September last year, but did win a trial at Cranbourne in mid-May.
That was on the same day that ex-Kiwi jumper Shamal also won a trial for McDonald before running second in the Australian Steeple.
McDonald has three runner engaged in jumps events at Sportsbet-Ballarat.
She also sends around First Crush in the E-Cycle Solutions Maiden Hurdle, 3200m, and Flying Agent in the E-Cycle Solutions Maiden Steeplechase, 3400m.
First Crush makes his jumping debut and Flying Agent backs up from a last-start hurdle victory at Sandown Lakeside.
