The Ballarat Market at the showgrounds on Creswick Road is aiming to reopen within the next four to six weeks according to Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society Executive Officer Elizabeth van Beek.
Ms van Beek told The Courier she has been in discussion with people from the Rotary Club of Ballarat South who organise the market.
"I met with members of the Rotary Club and we were saying we are hoping to return in about a month's time," she said.
"All going well, we'll be back in mid-July."

She added the delay in reopening the popular market is due to ensuring all the facilities are perfectly compliant with COVID-19 restrictions and some trepidation regarding a second wave of positive test results.
"We have to make sure that all the stalls are spaced apart and that we've got hand sanitiser and signs displayed. Once we've got all of that, it will be full steam ahead," she continued.
"If there's no market, then there is no providing for the community.
"We're wary of a second spike, however I think everything will progress because we haven't had many people test positive in Ballarat."
The Ballarat Market has been in operation since 1979 and proudly boasts it hosts more than 200 stalls and 1,500 visitors each week.
