Murphy reached the mark with consistent mare Juliustigres ($11.60), which he also drove, at Melton on Saturday night.
He gave Juliustigres the perfect run - settling behind the leader and then using the sprint lane to dash away in a slick 1:53.8 mile rate for 1720m.
Murphy followed his late father Don in training ranks in 1989-90.
He had his biggest season in 2006-07 with 79 wins. This followed 76, 71 and 70 in consecutive seasons.
Pass The Mustard (25 wins) and It Is I (19 wins) are among the best pacers he has trained.
GROUP 1-winning Ballarat squaregaiter Savannah Jay Jay ($5) returned to the winners' circle for trainer Stan Cameron at Melton.
The veteran had not saluted since the John Slack Memorial Trotters' Cup in Ballarat in May.
The 9yo was off the scene for seven months after that success and the win in the Woodlands Stud Trot, 2240m, for a reward for the work put in by Cameron to get him back to something like his best.
It was also James Herbertson's fifth win in eight drives on Savannah Jay Jay.
