Senior coach Jarrett Giampaolo said securing inter-club fixtures was the priority, but at the very least the Lions would like to have a few intra-club games.
He said there might be the possibility of being part of a lightning premiership somewhere.
Despite the BFL season being abandoned owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Redan plans to keep training on a regular basis.
"We'll train once a week until full-contact training returns and then we'll go twice a week," Giampaolo said.
AFL Victoria has confirmed that under return to-play protocols players aged over 18 years may resume full-contact training from July 13 and full-contact competition from July 20.
Giampaolo said Redan's focus would be on development - concentrating on younger players on the senior list and under-17s who would be moving into under-19 ranks next year.
"Kids are missing a year a footy so they need to do something," he said.
Giampaolo said training would not be compulsory.
"They can opt in or opt out, but we're encouraging as many as possible to get involved."
He said Redan would most likely look at extending training until the end of August before taking a break.
Like all clubs, Redan is waiting on the finalising of a new reduced salary cap for next year before looking to opening negotiations with players.
Giampaolo said the Lions would be comfortable with a reduction for 2021.
