Gerard FitzGerald did it all in the VFL as a coach.
He took the North Ballarat Roosters to an historic first premiership and went on to lead them to three consecutive flags.
And at the end of it all he had coached more VFL/VFA games than anyone else.
However, his football career has not all been highs.
FitzGerald has experienced the lowest of lows - a career ending injury as a player, the self doubts and the heartache of being sacked.
Throw in some politics and it has been an unforgettable journey.
FitzGerald tells all in an interview with David Brehaut in the third episode of The Courier's new 'Off The Record' podcast series.
