The Tigers lodged a late nomination last week after the Central Highlands Football League re-opened entries for the upcoming junior season.
An influx of players from Ballarat league clubs has helped get the team up and running, according to Springbank junior co-ordinator Sean Duggan.
"We always had seven or eight kids, but not quite enough kids to commit to a side," he said.
"We always said as a club if we had up to 15 kids we would always nominate an under-12 side and relying on other kids and other clubs to help us out on the day.
"I guess because of the BFNL falling over, it's made a lot of kids looking for a game of footy and consequently we've topped up from (there) quite nicely."
Duggan said the team nomination was submitted to the CHFL on Friday, about an hour before the official cut-off of entries.
Springbank also has under-18 and under-15 sides, which were confirmed during the original call for teams.
"It was a tough decision for the club to say no we haven't got under-12s with eight or nine local kids, but for them to get back involved it's really tremendous," Duggan said.
This Saturday, all three Tigers teams will host games against Bungaree at Wallace.
