A crew from Fire Rescue Victoria Station 67 (formerly Ballarat City Fire Brigade) fine-tuned their tactical skills on the GovHub construction site with ropes and ladder platforms for the training session.
Ballarat firefighter Zoe Wathen said teams could practice technical skills, like ropes, at the station but a new site offered vital learning challenges.
"Just to practice in a real setting, especially in a more industrial setting," Ms Wathen said. "You can plan as much as you want but it's important to practice new scenarios."
The crews three rescue scenarios were: a worker who had fallen off the side of the building in a harness; a worker putting on the roof when it collapse; and, a ladder platform for a medical condition.
A spokesperson for Kane Nicholson said the joint venture was proud to offer FRV a great location in Ballarat to gain invaluable experience in extreme scenarios.
