UFS primary care operations manager Danielle Trezise reiterated the clinic, with support from Ballarat Health Services, worked into the evenings and at weekends to keep up with demand in ensuring everyone who booked in was tested.
This comes following rumours in social media claims UFS was referring excess cases for testing at a secondary private site.
Ms Trezise quashed the rumour, saying the clinic did not refer anyone.
While the clinic tended to be booked out most days, appointments were kept for urgent cases and the staff aimed to fit in extra tests if patient flow was moving well.
UFS Medical runs an evening clinic for its existing, vulnerable patients with existing respiratory symptoms, like asthma. Ms Trezise said this is for sensitivity of other patients and for added caution.
Anyone with any cold and flu-like symptoms is urged to book a COVID-19 screening test at Lucas Community Hub, online here or phoning, 43 11 1571. Tests are by appointment only.
