BALLARAT'S outdoor museum at Sovereign Hill will remain open three days a week, despite the Melbourne-wide lockdown which is set to come into place this evening.
The museum is opening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday currently for pre-purchased ticket holders only and plans to do so in coming weeks despite Melbourne tourists banned from entering regional areas for at least six weeks.

A Sovereign Hill spokesperson said ticket holders from affected areas would be refunded, but the museum would remain open to regional visitors.
The spokesperson said there was about a 50-50 split of visitors from the city and regional areas.
Sovereign Hill reopened its doors on June 27 after a three month shutdown.
It is limiting the visitor numbers to 1000 patrons a day with a range of new hygiene and safety measures in place.
A number of major events have not as yet returned with Winter Wonderlights cancelled for 2020, while the Gold Museum, Aura and Narmbool attractions will also remain closed in the short term.
