Monthly V/Line performance statistics released on Friday afternoon show capacity on the Ballarat line has significantly fallen in the past three months.
In June, no services originating at Ararat or Wendouree ran at 100 per cent capacity. Only the 6.38am service from Wendouree came close to capacity.
In the evening, the 5.10pm service originating at Southern Cross Station was the only service to run at capacity for the month, with its busiest point remaining in the city at Footscray.
Punctuality on the line showed a slight dip from May's figure coming in at 92.3 per cent.
Melbourne's Stage 3 lockdown which came into force on Thursday morning have meant very few travellers have been arriving in Ballarat this week
The Courier witnessed only five travellers who arrived at Ballarat Station on a morning peak hour train on Friday at 9.15am.
Passengers said there were no extra security checks in Melbourne, however on arrival, all were directed to use hand sanitiser and all were quizzed on their reasons for visiting Ballarat.
