St Patrick's College confirmed it would not temperature test its students upon their return, while Loreto College added it was still evaluating its options ahead of its return to in-class learning on Wednesday.
A Loreto spokesperson said the college will continue the procedures undertaken throughout Term Two, which included temperature tests for some students.
"All procedures haven't changed from last term, for us everything is still the same," the spokesperson said.
"We have all those strict procedures that were in place, which included temperature testing last term. We're reviewing those procedures next week."
Ballarat Health Services Executive Officer of Acute Operations Ben Kelly said it is entirely up to each school on how to approach potential student testing and encouraged parents to keep up to date with any new information their children's school provides.
"The issue of how schools manage students and manage the likelihood of social distancing and the need for social distancing is really a matter for each school," he said.
"Schools will accept guidance from the department of education, but I would encourage people to read newsletters from their schools and make sure that if they have questions that they put them towards the relevant school."
