A DEEP clean was undertaken at the Mars Wrigley factory in Wendouree earlier this week following a COVID-19 scare.

The company has confirmed that it became aware an associate at the facility had been in contact with a confirmed coronavirus case on Monday.
After becoming aware, the company asked the person to be tested and to self-isolate until they received their result.
"Mars also took precautionary steps in line with Department of Health guidelines, including temporarily suspending operations in the area in which the Associate works to conduct a deep clean," a spokesperson said.
The clean was completed overnight and the facility was fully operational again on Tuesday.

There are no confirmed coronavirus at the site.
There are currently three active coronavirus cases in Golden Plains Shire and two in Moorabool Shire.
The spokesperson said Mars had continued to operate with additional health and safety precautions in place throughout the coronavirus pandemic, to reduce the risk to its associates and the wider community.
"We will continue to take precautions to limit Associate exposure to the virus and maintain product supply."
