A Newlyn youngster who played against Rokewood-Corindhap in an under-18 game at Rokewood at the weekend underwent a test as a precautionary measure.
CHFL secretary Diane Ryan confirmed the player was tested after he was found to have, in the lead up to the match, potentially been in contact with someone who in turn had been in contact with another person who had tested positive to COVID-19.
Ryan said Newlyn informed her of the situation on Monday night, seeking advice from the CHFL and AFL Victoria.
She said Newlyn under-18, under-15 and under-12 teams had immediately ceased all junior training, as had Rokewood-Corindhap's under-18s.
All four teams will not play in round three games on Saturday.
Rokewood-Corindhap informed its members of the situation via its Facebook page on Tuesday.

Ryan said all that could be done up to this point had been carried out.
She said it was now a matter of waiting for the result of the COVID-19 test, which could take as long as "four or five" days.
Ryan said the Newlyn club was devastated.
She said the reality of the circumstances everyone was living in meant there was always a possibility of something like this happening.
Ryan said Newlyn was doing everything possible in difficult circumstances.
Newlyn president Jon Rofe said the club's focus was on the safety of its players, volunteers and community members.
He said he understood that not training or playing on Saturday would be disappointing for some, but there was a need to look beyond football.
"The club feels for everyone involved and those impacted by COVID-19 and we really hope for the best outcome for everyone's health," he said.
AFL Goldfields regional general manager Gerard Ryan has been working alongside the CHFL in assisting Newlyn.
