A man accused of escaping the Ballarat Police Station while in custody has been remanded for one month.

Grant Kelly, 29, remained handcuffed when he appeared in the dock of the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Wednesday afternoon.
He was flanked by three custody officers, one more than the usual two.
The Wendouree man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly escaped police custody for almost 24 hours.
It was reported he turned himself into the Dana Street police station at 5.30pm on Tuesday after allegedly escaping on Monday at 6.55pm.
Kelly did not apply for bail on Wednesday and his case was adjourned until August 19 for a mention.
The Central Highlands Family Investigation Unit have charged Kelly with nine offences, including escaping from custody, resisting arrest, criminal damage and assault offences.
His barrister, Rachel Waters, told the court her client had no custody management issues although Kelly could not sit down during the brief hearing.
His next court appearance on August 19 will be by video link from prison.
