Two dark cars collided at the intersection of Greenhalghs Road and Finchs Road about 8.40am.
Both cars sustained severe damage.
Police blocked the intersection as the scene was cleared.
Police at the scene said the full extent of injuries were not yet known, but both drivers were cooperating with police.
One car, a dark coloured sedan was damaged at the front and rear of the car. It took out a road sign and came to rest near a fence.
The other car, a dark station wagon, appears to have been struck on the passenger side and came to rest near a large tree.
IN OTHER NEWS
Conditions are extremely foggy in the area this morning, with visibility down to about 100 metres.
Greenhalghs Road has a 100km/h speed limit at that intersection.
Police at the scene said it appeared one of the cars had failed to give way and that it was possible that foggy conditions were a factor.
