Do you ever look around at the terrible, un-artistic graffiti and 'tags' around Ballarat and think wonder why they even exist? If so, may we at The Courier provide some insight. One of our staff members caught a local 'artist' red-handed in the middle of a brazen daylight graffiti spree that spanned across multiple Ballarat suburbs. The man, clad in a blue beanie, blue shirt, grey tracksuit pants and bright red shoes was first spotted in Redan around 12.30pm on Wednesday, where he was seen 'tagging' a signal box along Skipton Street. The man then made his way up to the Sebastopol Post office, where he tagged a post box. While the man's actions are questionable, at least he was practicing safe COVID-19 practices by wearing a mask (which he lowered each time he tagged something). The photos above have been passed on to Ballarat Police (without his face blurred), who are investigating the incident. If you have any information regarding the identity of the individual pictured in the photos above, you are urged to contact Ballarat Police on 5336 6000.
