IT'S been a married life in three distinct chapters for Alex and Wilma Oram who are celebrating a lifetime of love with their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday.

While it will be a platinum day, it will be tinged with a touch of sadness as many of their friends and family will not be able to visit them to celebrate the milestone, due to current city lockdowns.
The couple, both aged 93, have actually been together for 77 years, meeting as teenagers and dating for seven years before they were married in 1950.
Daughter Helen Newall said the first stage of their marriage was settling a farm named "hillview" at Rupanyup north of Stawell.
"During this time they became very involved in their community, with church and numerous sporting clubs. They had two children and farmed till 1983, when they retired to Horsham," she said.
"Dad said he arrived at the farm in a drought and left on a drought."
The next step was the seek a less hectic life in Horsham which focused more on overseas and also buying a holiday home in Halls Hap.
"Mum relished her trips to England as she is a walking encyclopedia on English history," Ms Newall said.

Then the third stage saw the couple move closer to family in Ballarat in 1999, before moving to their current home in Alfredton in 2016.
"As always they quickly made new friends, while maintaining contact with old friends and family. They've spent their time either entertaining, playing cards or travelling to maintain friendships."
In 2017, Mrs Oram suffered a severe stroke which saw her hospitalised for six months, but her determination to come home and the love of her husband has seen her return home.
"Dad is the most caring, gentle man, his devotion to mum is 24/7 but he is just so caring and loving towards her," Ms Newall said.
"They've been a team, always done things together, always loved their friends and family, always community-oriented."
