With pre-season training about to be on hold for clubs across the competition, BCA president Rob Florence said there was the potential for the restrictions to delay the start of the home and away rounds.
As it stands, the BCA season is scheduled to get underway on October 3.
"I've noticed a few clubs have said they've had to hold off on their pre-season training, which is logical," Florence said.
"You only can gather with two people even with what we are at here (in Ballarat) - it's even worse in Melbourne.
"September 13 is obviously the end of the six-week period for stage three and that's only two-and-a-half weeks off our start of the season.
"We've got to work through what the impact of that is and how much pre-season training clubs will want and those sorts of things.
"It's only a proposal at the moment - it may mean a delayed start to the season."
Florence said the board would consider at Monday night's meeting whether or not it would take questions to the clubs about what they thought was a "reasonable" pre-season.
"We've recognised it's getting tight for the start of the season as of October 3," he said.
Last month, the BCA released a tentative fixture for the upcoming season, but that might now have to be altered.
The BCA's Greg Wakeling sent an email to clubs on Monday updating them on the current situation.
"...what was provided in terms of playing dates and formats previously were done so in the hope that a full unaffected season may have been possible. It was looking good until the second wave hit but we all realise that it will almost definitely change now," Wakeling wrote.
The pandemic was in its early stages back in March when it forced the abrupt end to the BCA's 2019-20 season.
The BCA eventually called off the end of its finals series, which even included abandoning the first grade decider between Darley and Golden Point.
The Lions were crowned premiers.
