Webb, who won a Ballarat league premiership as captain and played most of his senior career with Lake Wendouree, has opened up about his battles in The Courier's latest Off The Record podcast, titled Concussion: Football's Black Hole.

"Two or three times a year I'll dive in the field and as you do you sort of land on your elbows, whether you stop the ball or not," he said.

"It's like I've had a head knock. There'll be blurry vision, dizzy, for 30-40 seconds I'll get up slowly and by the time the next ball is bowled you're fine..."

Webb said he puts these issues down to the concussions he received across a long career in football.
