Online supports have opened up a new world of options for people with disabilities.

There is no need to miss out on catching up with friends, learning new skills or continuing with therapy sessions.

Staff at Pinarc are now offering online NDIS therapy supports, support coordination, financial plan management and group activity programs.

"Tele-therapy has been very helpful for working with families who are extremely busy and those who live more remotely," says Pinarc manager Elin McPadden,

"We have seen children with high anxiety find the online sessions significantly more relaxed and making even greater improvements than in face to face sessions."

The new Pinarc online group activity programs have also proved very popular.

Stephanie, who is hypersensitive to noise, has found joining the online cooking group suits her better than on site day programs.

She has been excited to be able to cook a meal whilst being supported through the steps by a familiar support worker.

Andrew's mother has been trying to encourage him to be more independent in prepping and cooking meals without much success.

However, now that he can engage with his friends online while cooking a meal for his family, he is enthusiastic about cooking more independently.

Stevie enjoys the online programs because they are kept small so that everyone is on the screen together and friendly staff make sure that everyone is involved.

He likes that he can choose how long he's online for, whether he's in a small group or a 1:1 session.

"With such great outcomes happening every day, we will definitely continue to offer online supports into the future," said Pinarc CEO Marianne Hubbard.

If you are not sure how to join in online, Pinarc offers a free set-up meeting to talk you through the process of getting connected.
