Melbourne United confirmed to The Courier that Sam Short was among those isolating.
NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said the primary concern was for the players, staff and their families.
"This is a challenging time for everyone concerned and we are working closely with the clubs and the Australian Basketball Players' Association (ABPA) to provide support for all those affected," he said.
"We are also working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services to manage the outbreak and limit any risk to the wider community."
Short signed with Melbourne United as a development player for the 2020-21 NBL season. He is also a member of the Ballarat Miners in the NBL1.
Short enjoyed a career-best for the Miners in 2019, averaging 12 points a game. He started all 22 games after a frustrating season off the bench the year prior.
He was set to return in 2020, however the NBL1 season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
