Federation University has confirmed a number of buildings at its Grant Street TAFE campus were deep cleaned on Friday in response to a COVID-19 case which was confirmed positive today.

According to a statement seen by The Courier, a small group of staff and students who have been in contact with the student have been notified and advised to self-isolate and get tested.
"We have robust procedures in place under our Critical Incident Management Plan, which was enacted immediately, to minimise the impact to our staff, students, and their families," it reads.
"For the majority of our staff and students, work and study continues from home."
The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services was notified for contact tracing, and the university will follow directions from DHHS and the Department of Education.

The news follows Hungry Jack's closing its Wendouree and Ballarat stores on Tuesday after a worker tested positive.
There are currently 20 active cases confirmed in Ballarat.
Remember to always maintain good hand hygiene, wear a mask when in public, and keep a 1.5 metre distance from others at all times.
Right now there are only four reasons to leave your home in Ballarat during stage three restrictions: care and caregiving, local exercise, shopping for necessary items, and for work or study if you are unable to do so from home.
Anyone with the slightest symptoms is urged to get a test immediately, and must self-isolate until results come back - phone 4311 1571 to make an appointment.
