The Courier received several messages from concerned residents regarding skate parks, while other people have pointed out playgrounds, which are supposed to be closed, are still being visited.
It is clearly stated on the Department of Human Health and Safety website that "Outdoor playgrounds and skate parks are closed."
However, people are still allowed to use outdoor recreational facilities, provided there are no organised sports or shared equipment, and people follow social distancing.
No more than two people are allowed to exercise together at a time.
A City of Ballarat spokesperson said in a statement police could get involved.
"City of Ballarat sporting grounds remain open strictly for exercise purposes and not for sporting competitions," they said.
"Shared facilities such as playgrounds are also closed in line with responsible social distancing and limits on outside gatherings, to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
"Anyone not observing social distancing measures and group limits at sporting grounds, or anyone who enters a closed playground, will be referred to Victoria Police. We need to work together to keep everyone in our community safe."
Remember to always maintain good hand hygiene, wear a mask when in public, and keep a 1.5 metre distance from others at all times.
Right now there are only four reasons to leave your home in Ballarat during stage three restrictions: care and caregiving, local exercise, shopping for necessary items, and for work or study if you are unable to do so from home.
A Ballarat North Police spokesperson confirmed a number of infringement notices had been issued within the region since stage three restrictions returned, mostly surrounding people not wearing a face covering or having guests visit their homes.
Looking at facilities, such as the Ballarat Skate Park on Main Road, the spokesperson added officers had attended the park to remind people they were not able to use it under the current restrictions.
Signage stating the skate park was closed was only erected on Tuesday afternoon by the City of Ballarat.
Anyone with the slightest symptoms is urged to get a test immediately, and must self-isolate until results come back - book online at bchc.org.au or phone 4311 1571 to make an appointment.
