Residents in elevated parts of the region awoke to a winter delight as an Antarctic blast delivered snow to nearby peaks. At Lyonville near Daylesford, snow blanketed the ground soon after sunrise. At Mount Egerton snow flurries throughout the morning were visible but little settled on the ground. Elsewhere though it was just cold and wet with steady rain falling throughout the night. The feels-like temperature has not been above 0 degrees since 12.40pm yesterday and dropped to a low of -5.5 at 8.10am. Wind gusts up to 46km overnight downed trees in various locations.
