Ride High runs smart time in public workout in Ballarat

Emma Stewart and Ride High at Bray Raceway on Sayturday night.
Boom pacer Ride High produced one of the fastest times ever run at Ballarat Bray Raceway in a public workout on Saturday.
Racing against the clock in an unofficial time trial, Ride High ran 1:52.2 for 1609m with Emma Stewart - the partner of the entire's trainer Clayton Tonkin - in the sulky.
The five-year-old raced well within himself, being assisted by a galloping pacemaker.
Ballarat and District Trotting Club joined with Harness Racing Victoria to organise the special appearance after a race Ride High had been scheduled to contest on the night had to be deleted owing to a lack of nominations.
Ride High, a winner of 15 of 16 starts, has a career-best mile rate of 1:49, produced at Bendigo and is being hailed within the harness racing industry as being the best pacer in the land and capable of breaking the Australian mile record 1:46.9.
He is likely to have his next race start at Terang on Saturday, September 12.
