Barry Hollis, 43, of Black Hill in Ballarat, appeared in the online division of the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Friday where he made an unsuccessful bail application.
Hamilton police Detective Senior Constable Nick Roberts told the court that in 10 years as a police officer, he had never seen someone attempt to avoid a search the way Mr Hollis did.
He said the accused and his partner Jessica Williams, 25, also of Ballarat, were observed leaving a known drug trafficker's house in Hamilton's Thompson Street on July 20 about 7.45pm.

He said when the pair was asked to exit the vehicle, Mr Hollis allegedly locked the car and threw the keys onto the roof of a nearby building in an attempt to prevent police from searching the car.
A CFA crew recovered the keys and inside the car was a blue box containing 9.5 grams of methamphetamine, a large knife, $970 cash and a small quantity of prescription drug Suboxone.
Detective Senior Constable Roberts said the 9.5 grams of ice was separated into six individual zip lock bags.
"Five of those were weighed out as 1.75 grams - commonly referred to as half an eight ball," he said.
The court heard a search of Ms Williams' handbag found one gram of ice and hundreds of unused deal bags.
Detective Senior Constable Roberts said Mr Hollis' sister attended Thompson Street during the police intercept. She allegedly left with his mobile phone. That phone has not been recovered.
Detective Senior Constable Roberts said due to the "supply and demand" of drugs during the coronavirus pandemic, the methamphetamine seized had a street value of up to $15,000
Lawyer Natasha Freijah told the court the police case was weak, stating there was no evidence Mr Hollis was aware of the drug presence.
Mr Hollis will appear for a contest mention hearing on October 30.
