Melbourne-based Snakebusters' Raymond Hoser called it the "perfect storm" this spring with people in lockdown at home amid the pandemic and spending more time in their gardens or working on their homes.
Even the fact more attention to mowing lawns meant less longer grass for snakes to conceal their path, Mr Hoser said.
There were reports of a jump in snake findings about Melbourne suburbs and in Geelong on Saturday with slightly warmer, sunny weather.
Ballarat Snake Catcher's Jules Farquhar said it might take a couple more weeks to really notice snakes in this region - most tend to really start moving in late September - but it was not unlikely.
Snakes could be starting to emerge from their winter brumation (the reptile equivalent of hibernation) and may be starting to bask.
Mr Farquhar said most snakes found about this region now would be not far from where they spent the winter and, with humans being home more in the COIVD-19 pandemic, there was more chance we could disturb them.
He also expected to receive more home-based call-outs during the week this upcoming season, while in the past this tended to be concentrated at weekends when people were home.
"One one hand, I think we'll not be getting much business from workplaces, caravan parks, schools and tourist attractions this season," Mr Farquhar said.
"But on the other, people will be more inclined to see snakes on their walks around the block or in yard work."
Mr Farquhar urged people to treat snakes with caution and, if they were concerning you in your house or on your property, to call a professional snake catcher to safely relocate them.
