Craig Price, 49, is charged with attempted murder and multiple assault and firearm-related offences.
His case has been scheduled for a committal hearing at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court in April next year.
Price did not make an application for bail at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday and remains on remand.
Price, from Ballarat, was arrested in Melton by Armed Crime Squad detectives on the evening of April 20.
His arrest followed an alleged shooting incident outside a Clover Street address on April 20 about 3pm.
It is understood a 25-year-old Wendouree man was seriously injured when he was allegedly shot in the face and was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
