Sunbury Football Netball Club are on the hunt for a new senior netball coach. The club announced it was looking for someone to lead the Lions' A-Grade and B-Grade programs, as well as act as a mentor for lower grades. The club had previously appointed Luke Rawlings to the position for the 2020 BFNL season, but he stepped down due to work and study commitments. Rawlings was set to lead a new-look side this year, after a disappointing finish to the 2019 season. But the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He replaced Lions premiership coach Adam Boldiston, sparking the exodus of a number of senior players. Club president Hedley Duhau told The Courier at the time the decision was made after the season ended. The saga followed successful season on the court, which saw the club win 15 games to finish at the top of the competition ladder. However the Lions came up short of a premiership after getting bounced in the preliminary final by eventual premiers North Ballarat for the second straight year. Johnson said if they can find a suitable club, they would consider the BNFL in 2021. Meanwhile North Ballarat head coach Annie McCartin confirmed she would return to the club for an eighth year on Tuesday.
