City of Ballarat confirmed its outdoor pools were on schedule to re-open in November. All council-run outdoor pools must first undergo a series of routine checks, maintenance and hygiene preparations before opening. This maintenance is set to start next week.
Outdoor pools are listed as able to open under the Victorian government's step two easing of COVID-19 restrictions from Monday.

A City of Ballarat spokesperson said Ballarat's outdoor pool season always started later in the year than most parts of the state due to the colder climate.
"The City of Ballarat staff are working behind-the-scenes to make sure all outdoor pools are ready for visitors and are setting in place a regime of safety measures to protect community members, families and staff," the City spokesperson said.
Maintenance that must be complete before re-opening includes equipment, water chemistry, removing debris and pool hygiene that will also now take in new COVID-19 safe measures.
Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre pools will also remain closed as indoor sports and exercise facilities are not permitted to open under the next steps to ease restrictions.
Meanwhile, City of Ballarat public playgrounds will progressively re-open from next week after compliance and safety checks.
