This was how The Courier's Kate Healy prefaced all her captions for a photographic assignment to the Central Highlands Football League match between Learmonth and Hepburn at Learmonth on August 10 last year.
And it easy to see why in her photo of Learmonth's Jack Treweek, which captured just how heavy conditions were that day, and has now earned Healy a top accolade at the Rural Press Club of Victoria awards.
She took out the best photography (sport) category.
Judges noted that the entry was "a wonderfully miserable picture of a thoroughly miserable day ... needing no explanation and speaks volumes as it beautifully tells the story".
The Courier's Adam Trafford also featured among photographic awardees on Thursday night.
He received a high commendation and commendation in best photography (general interest), and high commendation in the sport category.
