City of Ballarat is progressively checking and reopening its play spaces this week under the Victorian government's step two towards a COVID normal.
Victoria Park's Inclusive Play Space was the place to be on Monday, filled with excited youngsters safely getting back on the equipment, running around and having fun.
It will take a little longer for older children and adults to get back into play.
Step two restrictions allow for up to five people from within two households to exercise together but it will not be until the next step that sport can make a gradual return.
Routine maintenance and preparations works are also underway to open City of Ballarat outdoor pools on schedule in November.
Outdoor pools can open across Victoria from this week under restrictions, but Ballarat pools open later in the season due to the city's colder climate.
