The 2010 Collingwood premiership player walked away from the AFL at the end of July - leaving the Saints' Noosa hub to be with his family in Victoria.
The 31-year-old played 53 times for St Kilda after leaving Collingwood at the end of 2013.
He did not add to his game tally this year,
A former Ballarat Swans junior, Brown was drafted by Collingwood from North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup under-18s in 2006 and made 130 appearances with the Magpies.
Brown has had a longstanding association with Barwon Heads football manager Brendan Curry.
Curry was Williamstown's chief executive when Brown was drafted to Collingwood and the Magpies had an alignment with the VFL's Seagulls.
Brown and his family have been living at Barwon Heads since last year.
